There are few things more satisfying than that very first shower and hot meal after spending nine days coated with playa dust in Black Rock City.
For many travelers who must return to 9-5 jobs, families, and what most of of would consider normalcy, the 72 hour post-Burn stop in Reno offers an opportunity to gently ease themselves back into what they have affectionately coined to be “the default world.” The ultimate goal is to avoid jarring those gently cultivated nirvana vibes that have come to be the signature of a week in the dust; and Reno, in all of its gory-glory, happens to contain the perfect cocktail to guide that transformation.
For the past nine years, the award-winning arts and entertainment company Fresh Bakin’ has hosted burners from across the globe as they flock to Reno for a multi-day post-playa party known as The Great Depressurization.
During this three day, four night extravaganza, travelers are able to shake off the dust and find rejuvenation with pool parties, spa days, late night fun, quality sustenance, high-larity and shenanigans that could only come from the Biggest Little City in the World. This year, larger-than-ever crowds have necessitated an upgraded experience from the event’s former home at The Grand Sierra Resort to three, 100% connected downtown Reno resorts: Eldorado Resort Casino, Silver Legacy Resort Casino Reno, and Circus Circus Reno, in addition to our newest host resort The Whitney Peak Hotel.
Even if you don’t consider yourself a part of the Burning Man community, or you simply haven’t had a chance to make the trek out to the playa, The Great Depressurization offers a chance to immerse yourself in the culture while enjoying the convenience of being close to home. Local Reno-Tahoe community members or those staying at non-participating hotels will be able to purchase individual event tickets, or a Late Night Multipass to get in on all the action.
With so many amazing acts, artists, and venues, there is truly something for everyone all wrapped up in a bright and brilliant package known as The Great Depressurization.
